HOSPITAL SERVICES

Our veterinary hospital services provide high quality pet health and wellness services to assist your pet in living a longer, happier, and healthier life. We also strive to provide our clients with access to leading edge products and services together with authoritative educational content focusing on enhancing the human animal bond.

Complete Wellness Physical Examinations - We care about your pets and as they get older, we want to help you plan for adjustments they may need in their diet and overall health. Whether your pet is a canine or a feline, we can discuss a specific plan with you during one of the complete physical exams that we offer.

Surgery - Along with the standard service of spaying and neutering, additionally declawing for felines, we provide soft tissue surgery (mass removals, injury repair) as well as some orthopedic procedures (fractures, patellar luxation).

Each patient is intubated and maintained on inhalational anesthesia while their vital signs are monitored electronically. We strongly recommend pre-surgical blood work and post-operative pain management on all surgical patients. Please view the helpful surgery information section for additional questions/answers.

Safe Anesthesia - We use the most modern inhalant anesthetics, as well as balanced pain medications to make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pet. We use the latest in monitoring technology including pulse oximeters, ECG monitoring, and doppler blood pressure monitor to help ensure your pet is safe while under anesthesia.

Dental Care - Sometimes that "bad breath" is more of a problem for your pet than you may realize and dental cleaning will help to maintain your pet's health. Our staff is trained to recognize the early signs of dental disease in an effort to take a proactive stance against gingivitis and periodontitis. While under anesthesia, we can clean the teeth, polish, and treat with a sealant. Any dental extractions or minor oral surgery can be done during this time.

Immunizations - Vaccines are essential to the well being of your pet. The Grandview Animal Hospital's Vaccination Protocol for the Canine Vaccinations or the Feline Vaccinations are our recommended schedules for your pets' vaccinations.

Pet ID's and Microchipping -  A ResQ microchip is a small device that can be easily inserted under your pet's skin. It is as quick and painless as a vaccine. The owner's information is registered with a national database and if a lost pet is found, the owner can be contacted. Most veterinarians and animal shelters have scanners that read the microchip number and allow the owner to be identified.

Nutrition Counseling and Prescription Diets - Our staff is trained to help answer your questions about the best type of food to feed your pet according to their nutritional needs. Nutrition is an important part of treating some disease processes such as pet obesity. We carry a large inventory of many prescription pet foods and can order any that your pets need. Science Diet and Prescription Diet products are available for all your pets' nutritional needs.

Cancer Treatment - Early detection and specialized care are leading to increased survival and cure rates in almost all the types of cancers that afflict pets. From surgery to chemotherapy to radiation therapy, Grandview Animal Hospital can offer your pet cancer diagnostics and treatment and the best chance of survival.

Exotic Pet Care - We have experience in exotic pet care which includes husbandry, nutrition, behavior, medicine and surgery of exotic mammals, birds, reptiles, aquatic species and invertebrates. We offer the latest in diagnostic, treatment and surgical modalities to provide the best preventative and curative care for your exotic pets.

Advanced Diagnostics - Sometimes after a general workup of our patient (physical exam, blood work, x-rays, laboratory tests, etc.) further diagnostics must be performed to identify some specific problems. In these cases, a referral to a specialist may be necessary. Our role is to provide the best service available for our patient's health needs and to allow our clients the option to choose their best treatment plan.

Pharmacy - We carry most medications needed to treat your pet. Prescriptions can be filled before you leave the hospital. If you need your pet's prescription refilled, use the online pet portal to obtain your pet's prescription.

Laboratory - We have state-of-the-art machines that allow us to run complete blood counts, blood chemistries, and electrolytes along with many other tests right inside our hospital. This equipment means fast results and fast treatment for your family pet.
