"HEALING, SHARING, CARING"
We can't wait to meet you in person but would love to tell you a little more about us!
The "heart in hand" concept is a traditional symbol of nursing. We tweaked it a bit to describe our practice philosophy and the "hand to paw" connections we want to establish with your pet.
"Healing" is the reason we have all found each other at Grandview Animal Hospital! Many of us have known from a very young age that we were destined to do our part in healing animals in need.
Although our daily opportunities for healing may vary from cuddling an orphan kitten to a well orchestrated resuscitation of an animal in shock, we are whole heartedly dedicated to each and every patient requiring our help.
"Caring" for your family is our greatest privilege. Our opportunity to reach out - to pets, individuals and families - allows us to create and then nurture the family-pet-veterinarian bond.
We grow and thrive as a practice as a result of these relationships. We could tell you how amazing the relationships are we have developed with these families over the past 50+ years but would rather show you. It should be easy to see as soon as you step inside.
Veterinary hospitals can be busy, hectic and chaotic but they shouldn't be cold, impersonal or detached. We do care, we do love our jobs and our goal is to make that obvious to you.
"Sharing" what we have learned with you is a core value of Grandview Animal Hospital. Sharing experiences, education, thrills, joys, worries and loss - we want to be there for you throughout the journey.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share in these moments with you and anxious for you to share with us! Sharing by definition is a two way street. A huge part of our job is to share with our community but we also benefit from the process. We receive so much in return and appreciate every single smile, hug, lick and tear.
OUR MISSION
It is the mission of Grandview Animal Hospital to cheerfully and diligently care for our patients, continually exceed expectations of their owners and constantly provide them with tangible and intangible evidence that they have chosen the best possible caregivers for their pets.
OUR HISTORY
Grandview Animal Hospital was established in 1953 by Dr. Ted Higgins. Dr. Higgins built the existing building in 1957.
Dr. Ronald Cott purchased the practice from Dr. Higgins in 1979 and the two continued to work together until Dr. Higgins retired in 1986.
Dr. Abby Snyder joined Dr. Cott in 1999 and purchased the practice in 2001.
Dr. Jennifer Jones joined GAH as an associate in 2001. Dr. Snyder and Dr. Jones worked together until December of 2007 when Dr. Jones returned to her hometown of Sedalia, MO.
Dr. Kevin Harsha joined the staff in January 2008 and worked with Dr. Snyder until October 2010.
Dr. Brad Twigg became part of the Grandview Animal Hospital staff in 2010 and together, Dr. Snyder and Dr. Twigg, maintain the long-standing tradition of "healing, caring and sharing".
Grandview Animal Hospital celebrated the 50th year at our current location in 2007 and was recognized as Small Business of the Year in 2004 by the Grandview Chamber of Commerce. |
